Demonstration in Berlin, to recall the disaster of Fukushima six years ago

Some hundreds marched in Berlin to remind the nuclear desaster in Japanese Fukushima six years ago. Caused by a Tsunami the nuclear power plant in Fukushima exploded and a meltdown happened. They also remind the desaster in then Soviet and now Ukrainian Tchernobyl.

The activists demanded a stop of the usage of nuclear power in any civil or military way.

About 200 rallied in front of the embassy of Turkey in Berlin to free detained journalist Deniz Yücel. Yücel who is a German and also a Turkish citizen was arrested in Turkey two weeks ago for charges of supporting terrorism. He is the correspondent in Turkey for the German newspaper "Die Welt". In articles he critized president recep Tayyip Erdogan and his government. He was short timed arrested for critical questions to a local governor.

Among the attending crowd were politicians from the Green Party, die Left Party and Pirate Party. Also a lot of journalists joined the protest.

The protest was organized by MP Öczan Mutlu (Greens).

March for the victims of colonialism and slavery in Berlin

About 200 joined the annual march for "remembrance of the African victims of enslavement, trade with enslaved people, colonial occupation and racist violence". The march took place for the eleventh time.

The date was determined after the last day of the "Congo conference" in Berlin from November, 15th 1884 to February, 26th 1885.

The activists called to rename streets with racist names (as the Mohrenstrasse) They also urged to return holy objects and mortal remains from German museums to their African owners.

The march was joined by MP Öczan Mutlu (Greens) and the member of the parliament of Berlin Susanna Kahlefeld (Greens). So Dr. Pierrette Herzberger-Fofana, Germany's first city council with African origin held a speech.

Honorable guests were Ida Hoffman, chairwoman of the Nama Genocide Technical Committee, Esther Muinjangue, chairwoman of the Ovaherero / Ovambanderu Genocide Foundation (OGF) and Doudou Diène, political scientist from Senegal and former UN special correspondent for racism, xenophobia and discrimination.

Ground crew strikes for higher wages at Berlin’s Airports Tegel (TXL) and Schönefeld (SXF). They held a rally at the airport Tegel and marched through the airport building.

Solidarity with former state security man Andrej Holm in Berlin

Some hundreds took the streets of Berlin to march against gentrification and to support Andrej Holm. Holm is a former member of the notorious GDR state security service (Stasi) and now became a high ranking member of Berlin's government. He is known for years for his work against gentrification at Berlin's Humboldt University.

Holm who worked at the Humboldt University since 2005 get fired by the University because of his wrong Statement abot his work for the state security. This lead to a squat of his former Institute by left wing students. In the meantime the notice was withdrawn.
