Rally in Berlin to support the rescue of refugee and for safe passages

Activists held a rally at Berlin's Potsdamer Platz to support NGOs like Sea-Watch and Mission Lifeline which rescued thousands of refugees from drowning during their passage over the Mediterrean Sea. Now the NGOs are facing trials and repression by Italy, Malta and the European Union. The participants condemned the criminalization of distress rescue and demanded to implement save passages for refugees.

The rally was part of the so called "Day Orange" inspired by the colour of the life vests used by the refugees. Actions took place all over Germany organized by Sealift (Seebrücke).

Activists held a rally in front of the embassy of Iran in Berlin to free Maedeh Hojabri. They demanded civil rights and democracy in the Islamic Republic. They danced in solidarity with the detained Iranian woman.

Maedeh Hojabri was arrested after the 18 year old woman uploaded a video at Instagram of herself dancing. She is threated by a sentence of four years in prison and 80 lashes.

Vigil held in Berlin to remember Jamal Nasser M.

Dozens of activists held a vigil for Jamal Nasser M. who committed suicide in Kabul, Afghanistan days ago after being deported from Germany. Deportations to Afghanistan are highly controversial due the unsecure situation in the war torn country.

At a press conference Germany's Minister for Internal Affairs Horst Seehofer made jokes about the deportation of 69 Afghans to their home country at his own 69th birthday. Jamal Nasser M. was one of them.

Up to 12,000 attended a demonstration in Berlin's inner city to march against the restrictive asylum policy forced by Germany's Minister for Internal Affairs Horst Seehofer (CSU). The activists showed their solidarity with "Mission Lifeline", "Sea Watch" and other organizations whichs rescue refugees from drowning in the Mediterranean Sea. They condemned the Eurpoean Union for betraying its humanitarian values.

Hundreds attended a "Black Lives Matter" march in Berlin organized by the black community. In speeches and on signs they condemned the every day racism they are affected from. They also demanded the renaming of streets with racist names.
