Tens of thousands protest against Article 13 in Berlin

Tens of thousands protest against Article 13 in Berlin

Up to 40,000 people took part in a demonstration through Berlin against the planned reform of copyright law at European level.

The main point of criticism was the planned Article 13 of the reform, which obliges Internet providers to remove copyright-protected, unlicensed content. The protesters feared that this would be done by means of upload filters, which are technically imperfect on the one hand, but could also be used specifically to censor content on the other.

At the same time, similar protests took place in numerous cities in Europe.

Several hundred Syrians and supporters demonstrated on 16 March 2019 in Berlin on the occasion of the eighth anniversary of the beginning of the uprising against the regime of Bashar al-Assad.
The protesters stood up for a free and democratic Syria. They condemned the war crimes committed by the regime in Damascus and its allies Iran and Russia, as well as the actions of radical Islamic militias such as the Al-Nusrah Front and Daesh.

The Syrian regime and its allies have been proven to have committed various war crimes. These include attacks with chemical weapons, targeted starvation of the civilian population, attacks on hospitals and massacres of civilians.

It is estimated that around 800,000 people have lost their lives. Millions are on the run and tens of thousands are in Assad's torture prisons.
