Syrians in Berlin rally as Idlib is under attack

Syrian and German activists held a rally at Berlin's Alexanderplatz to protest as attacks on the Idlib region in Syria by regime forces and its ally Russia have started.

Hundred thousands of rebels and civilians are trapped in Idlib, the last stronghold of the armed Syrian opposition. Activists fear thousands of civilan victims under a huge attack by the regime of Bashar al-Assad.

Some thousands attended a demonstration in Berlin's inner city against the restrictive asylum policy forced by Germany's Minister for Internal Affairs Horst Seehofer (CSU). The activists showed their solidarity with "Mission Lifeline", "Sea Watch" and other organizations whichs rescue refugees from drowning in the Mediterranean Sea. They condemned the Eurpoean Union for betraying its humanitarian values.

Kurds rally to free PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan from prison

Dozens of Kurds held a rally at Berlin's Alexanderplatz to free PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan from Turkish prison at İmralı. Öcalan is detained since 1999 when he was sent to a life long prison term.

The activists critizied the ban of the PKK in Germany and pointed out the great effort of the PKK and its northern-Syrian allies YPG and YPJ while fight radical muslim militias as Daesh and the Al-Nusra-Front.
