3rd Herbstsalon in Berlin: Suffragette City procession

About 100 activists, mostly women, attended an art performance of  Lara Schnitgers called "Suffragette City procession" from the Brandenburg Gate to the Maxim Gorki theatre in Berlin. The procession was part of the 3rd Herbstsalon.

The activists shout out for women's rights, against sexism and for feminism. Suffragettes were women in the early years of the 20th century who marched for the women's right to vote.

Free Öcalan bus tour stops in Berlin

Dozens supporters of a campaign to free PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan from prison in Turkey acompanied with a motorcade a bus which tours through whole Germany. It started in front of the Federal Chancellery.

Abdullah Öcalan is detained in Turkish İmralı since 1999.

Refugees protest in Berlin for family reunification

Dozens of refugees and supporters held a rally in front of the Federal ministry for Internal Affairs to protest for their family reunification. More than 4,000 family members wait in Greece to be brought to Germany. The activists held the Greek government responsible for a delay up to 18 month without a chance for the waiting refugees to see their family members again in the near future.

Fourteen refugees started an hunger strike in Athens to force the Greek government for their family reunification.

Dozens Catalans held a rally near the embassy of the European Commission in Berlin to protest against political imprisonments in Spain. Spanish prosecutors gave out arrest warrants against Catalan politicians. The activists also support the independence of Catalonia.

Goodbye to AirBerlin

Goodbye to AirBerlin

Hundreds of crew members of AirBerlin and about 2,000 People from Berlin gathered at Berlin's Airport Tegel (TXL) to say goodbye to the air carrier after nearly fourty years. Flight AB6210 coming from Munich marks the end of the second largest Airline in Germany.

While the Crew members celebrate AirBerlin and themselves for a last time the crowd hangs out in melancholy and is talking about their memories with flying with AirBerlin.

After AB6210 was flying over Berlin forming an heart it landed and was welcomed by the airport's fire department with water cannons.
